We discovered this place on line before travelling down, and could not have been happier that we did. First impressions, and nice relaxing atmosphere, spacious and welcoming. The waitresses could not have been more friendly or helpful, absolute first class service with a smile! Downstairs is their very own micro-brewery(!!) where they produce their own draft beers from imported ingredients form Belgian! And their craft beers were absolutely wonderful! The first time we went we had the shared seafood platter which was super fresh and very well proportioned, a feast to enjoy. It was that good

I recently visited The Belgian Café and had a really enjoyable experience. The restaurant has a great location right on the seafront, with a relaxed and lively atmosphere that makes it a nice place to eat while enjoying the view. 🌊 For food, I ordered the mussels in a pot with Thai curry sauce, fried squid, and chicken wings. The mussels were definitely the highlight of the meal. They were fresh, cooked well, and the Thai curry sauce added a really nice flavour — slightly spicy and very aromatic. Wonderful experience . Booked ahead but there was plenty of space anyway . Very spacious modern pub and their speciality is the Belgian style mussels and frites . Tried the classic moules mariniere and the Congo chilli as I fancied some spice .very generous portions but most important the mussels we fresh , plump and the sauces were brilliant they definitely don't skimp on ingredients here . The baguette was soft and crunchy and bonus points for proper mayonnaise for the fries . Paired with a Belgian IPA. Service was lovely too . 5 stars !

It is a nice and spacious area for eating that you find yourself in as you enter. The bar is positioned along the wall at the far end. I ordered a bowl of House muscles which came in a well designed pot, with a generous portion of bread and a bowl of tasty chips. The marinière sauce was bland beyond belief. It said Cream but i detected no butter and nothing other than a tasteless white liquid. So salt and more salt! If i go back i will ask for a sauce with a bit of a kick.
