After recently discovering Calvo Loco we can't recommend it enough. The food is authentic, delicious, and varied, and the drinks menu is just enough to keep you interested; the alberino and mojito have been perfect in the sun. Lovely specials and menu, lovely setting, lovely staff - our new favourite lunch/dinner spot in Exeter.

The dishes was good and tasted nice, however it would have been nice if the mixed meat and cheese platter had come with more bread. Additionally the dishes came out as they were cooked rather than all at once. It would have been better if they came out together. There is an “optional” service charge of 12.5%. Either don’t add it on or just increase the prices on the menu by 12.5%.

The photos I saw of this place looked very good and the portions looked great and to be fair the service was great however spending 90 pounds including service charge which was around 10 pounds and one dish not being brought out so they deducted this to 80 pounds, me and my partner had a bottle of wine and the meatballs which was 3 meatballs drowned in sauce to compensate for the 3 meatballs, a handful of small fritas which were nice but there was only a handful which were gone in 30 seconds, 4 small prawns which where not good and cost 10 pounds and a cheese and meat board which was 19.50 and

We visited for our anniversary dinner. When we arrived, we were told to wait for a moment and were seated a few minutes later. After ordering our drinks, we were then asked about our drink order around four more times by different staff members, which became quite confusing.
