A satisfying meal with generous portions and great flavours throughout. We ordered the barg kebab and lamb chops with rice, both were fresh, and beautifully cooked. The mirza ghasemi was full of flavour, and the traditional yoghurt drink paired nicely with the meal. The salad with walnuts and balsamic dressing was a nice, slightly different touch and worked surprisingly well. The saffron tahdig topped with barberries was excellent, crispy, fragrant, and very moreish. Staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. At first when we got a table for 8 we was very much squished up in the seating, they added extra tables to accomodate us which was appreciated, went from uncomfortable start to a very lovely experience afterwards. Complimentary walnut salad and bread. Waiter memorised our huge order without an pen and notepad, impressive. I tried Persian food for the first time, and it was an amazing experience. The dishes were full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully prepared. We happened to pass by Mother Restaurant in Finchley and decided to give it a try. The food quality was acceptable, a solid meal if you’re craving Persian cuisine. The interior has more of an old-school, traditional feel rather than a modern vibe. One of the biggest highlights was the value; the prices are very reasonable, and they even served us a complimentary salad, which was a lovely touch.
