Modern museum for old cars, trams, locomotives, and much more. Entrance is free, and donations are welcomed. It's certainly worth a donation of whatever you can afford. We spent a good couple of hours exploring the artifacts and could have done with more time. We didn't have time to see the old sailing ship outside. There is so much to see. The museum is well laid out with good information boards that bring out the local details. Fantastic day even though the museum was really busy due to the 80’s memorabilia being on display. Fantastic atmosphere, good mix of ages groups. I love the little tables and chairs dotted around so you can take a packed lunch although we didn’t stay over lunch time so it wasn’t a requirement for us. No cost to enter but we donated electronically. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Good amount of lifts for those who can’t use stairs.

Brilliant museum and free entry as a big bonus. As we entered we were welcomed by a gentleman offering a free tour which we gratefully accepted. Having been joined by another couple we started the tour by going into the old Glasgow street scene which is fascinating and could occupy a visitor for half a day! The cafe and the public bar were very interesting and our guide was so good at bringing them to life. For example, in the bar there was a channel cut in the floor where the men would routinely spit! The position of women in the bar was also explained as was the development of "the snug". E

Very nice and well maintained public museum with very interesting historical facts about Glasgow, the once at a time huge industry and transportation (cars, subway, trains, ships) in general. The entry was free! (Well done, UK). The museum itself is not that big. You can make a full tour in roughly 2 hours. Great environment to learn something new, both for old and young brains.
