I visited The Ivy Castle View in Guildford on June 19th to celebrate a loved one. I knew The Ivy is considered the ideal place for such an event, but unfortunately, the quality of the food was far below their standards and our expectations. The disappointment started right from the starters, when we ordered the salt and pepper squid. It was very, very dry (as you can probably tell from the attached picture), and the texture was so tough that eating it felt exactly like chewing on pork scratchings. Been to The Ivy in Windsor. So, thought, lets try this one. Lovely being on 2nd floor of building, right next too the castle. Food was exceptional as was the cocktail that I had, pear mojito, it was very good, I had some more.
