Great fish and chip shop. Clean, well looked after and friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Excellent portion size (I shared a large cod with the Mrs and there was plenty for both of us). Prices are slightly higher than I expected but the portions are generous. I definitely recommend a visit - we went there because of the number of great Google reviews and were not disappointed.

First off the staff and owner are brilliant. My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Hemel Hempstead 10th-12th April. We had food from here the Fri night and it's the best chippy food we've eaten in years. We're from the North and gravy is special up here, however Mario's had THE best gravy we've had from any chippy. The curry sauce was also really good. The chips were proper chips. Ordering was really easy and we weren't waiting around for an age. Food was hot and just really good. Excellent value for money too. Best fish and chips in HemelHempstead! Clean and spotless, friendly and polite staff, super fresh and Perfectly crispy batter with moist fish. The chips were perfectly cooked and not greasy. We tried a lot of places while we were in St albans and Hemel Hempstead and this was by far the best. Outside and inside has a few seating options. Highly recommend 100%
