This place’s food is as good as home cooking is. My wife and I dropped by High Wycombe to shop and I was looking at a decent place to eat. I chanced upon this restaurant and saw that it had glowing reviews so we decided to check this place out. The restaurant is just off the high street but not difficult to see. On entering, the whole place smelled good. And I also knew that it was going to be good and authentic because I could see that everyone in the kitchen was Jamaican! Do not order from this restaurant if you are looking for authentic Carribbean food. All of the meat we ordered was dry. Brown stew chicken had 0 sauce. Worst dumpling I've ever tasted. Coleslaw had no creaminess. I make better Mac n cheese myself. Portion sizes and prices are a joke. Coconut cake was drier than my flip flops. Worst Carribbean I've ever ordered. Complete waste of money. No idea how any awards could have been won. This is not good food.

Visited JWD this Saturday just gone (14/3/26). Absolutely amazing authentic and tasty food. We ordered the jerk chicken and some sides and it was truly excellent. As a BBQ nerd, I was intrigued to try the brisket too. Having tried a few "so called" BBQ restauraunts in search of authenitic BBQ brisket (and never finding it!) I was blown away to finally get it in a small Caribbean restuarant in the town I grew up in. Really really good! The owner (Andrew) was also super friendly and gracious with his time and gave me a little insight into his brisket process. Staff very helpful and friendly

I had an excellent experience ordering takeaway from James William Diners. I ordered the jerk chicken with macaroni cheese, plantain, and coleslaw, and everything exceeded my expectations. The service was spot on - they told me 20 minutes and the order was ready exactly on time. When I got home, everything was piping hot, which really made a difference. The jerk chicken was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the macaroni cheese was creamy and satisfying, and the plantain was done just right.
