We took a chance for dinner here as we hadn't booked. We were warmly welcomed and showed to our table in an area which was once a courtyard but now it's covered by a pyramid glass conservatory. The furniture in the restaurant seemed like it needed a refresh. There is potential for such a historic building to make the restaurant a bit smarter. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Casting eyes around the dining room, the bar area seemed a bit out of place and again a bit dated. The food however was excellent. We had the escargots to start which were delicious with a nice accompliment of warm

We recently had our wedding at Hitchin Priory Hotel, where we also stayed overnight as did some of our guests. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough. The staff, particularly Luke, are extremely kind and helpful. Luke went out of his way to ensure the entire process ran smoothly, he genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. The day was fantastic, it is an absolutely beautiful venue with wonderful staff who go above and beyond.

Went last night for my partners birthday. We had heard mixed reviews about the priory but we went with an open mind .car park is a bit of a walk in the dark 2 mins so be prepared don't wear light colours as it can be muddy .but thats the only negative I can say .we were greeted by the restaurant man with a smile and guided to our table .we were 6pm so first people in .Nice and clean not perfect few little things to make it perfect but they have a new French chef he popped out a few times in between courses to check all was OK and say happy birthday. Perfect location for the town centre. Just what I needed for a place to stay for one night good rooms with all the usual amenities. In the morning then staff went out of their way to help my jump start my car. The breakfast was delicious and fast service and brilliant price for all. Thank you so much I will be returning.
