Armley’s changed a lot over the last 25 years, but one thing that’s been consistent in my life, is my local, The Malt Shovel. Call it what you will but to a lot of people, The Malt Shovel isn’t just a pub, it’s like a second home. I’ve seen it swap hands a number of times since Jenny and Harry, then their daughter Jo and Del, I’ve had some great times in that pub. Went online and ooked a table for 7, five days in advance for early evening on Saturday. We had travelled two hours to attend an event and wanted food local to the venue. Arrived fifteen minutes early, to be told the kitchen was closed and there would be no food served. When we told them we had booked in advance and had no correspondance to advise us that they were cancelling, the staff member advised us that the manager had left two days previous, she had come in on her day off, had been in the kitchen all day and had decided to shut it. Been in here today with my friend food ok had lasagna but the 2 lady’s behind the bar were a bit rude to me as I walked in they need to speak to customers better not be of hand with them
