We were 3 weary travelers from the States . We were on a genealogy quest to St James in Papplewick. We stumbled upon this WONDERFUL pub. The food & service was out of this world amazing! My Mother inlaw had the bangers and mash. The gravy was the BEST EVER! I went the “safe” route with a burger but I dipped my fries in that gravy. My husband had mac&cheese with a side of maple glazed sausage. Food & atmosphere was just what we were looking for- an old English pub. We had visions that our relatives might have had a pint here. ~but ~ Here comes the GREATEST PART!! We were “stranded” becaus

Very lovely family meal here. Layed back pub restaurant style, well decorated and comfortable atmosphere. Great beer garden too. The fish and chips was amazing, the batter on the fish was crispy and delicious, and the chips were perfectly chunky! Very friendly staff, defo recommend. 😋😁
