I visited Blackfriars in Inverness as a group of four and had a really enjoyable afternoon. The pub is beautifully decorated, with lots of character with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Blackfriars Inverness is one of those places you leave already planning your next visit. We ordered two of the daily specials—the crispy calamari and the pan-fried Shetland scallops—and both absolutely lived up to the hype. The calamari had the perfect crunch, was beautifully seasoned, and wasn’t greasy in the slightest. The scallops were cooked to perfection—tender, sweet, and paired with crispy pork belly and bite-sized potatoes that honestly deserved their own round of applause. For starters, we also shared the tempura prawns with sweet chilli sauce. Light, crispy, and packed with flavor.

This dinner was an absolute blast! I wanted to start by shouting out the waitresses and bartenders for getting us started on this wonderful dinner. Our waitress was very kind and very polite to us and even helped prepare our drinks behind the bar. The first drink I had was a Watermelon NoJito and it was delicious. It was like a tart candy soda. I would definitely recommend that for children or anyone with sweet and tart tooth. Our appetizers were also sublime. We ordered the Calamari and the shrimp/prawns.
