We had the Scotch Haggis and Scottish Mussels as starters and Grilled Fillet of Hake and again Scottish Mussela as mains. The mussels and hake were good. Maybe the cream sauce of the mussels was a bit on the heavy-side, but the size was excellent. Seems like you need to make a reservation in advance at any restaurant in Inverness on any given day. It’s hard to just hop in and ask for a table. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Quite some people got disappointed not getting a table without a reservation at Encore.

Went here our first night in Inverness and it was one of the best meals we had during our entire trip! The fish and chips were delicious and the homemade tartar sauce was the best tartar sauce I’ve ever had. We had the mussels as an appetizer and the broth was so good I soaked up everything I could with the bread that came with it. Drinks were perfectly mixed. Definitely recommend having a meal here while in the city!

We visited this restaurant/pub for lunch on 27/12/25, and honestly, it is one of the best places we have found in Scotland — if not the UK. The chef serves simple cuisine using excellent ingredients, elevated with a refined and thoughtful touch. You’ll find classic British pub dishes, but everything is full of flavour and not overly fried, which makes a huge difference. This restaurant has a very welcoming atmosphere. The food was great, very tasty and rich in flavours steak pie. The portions are big, I have struggled a little bit to finish off mine. The veggies were slightly on the crunchy side. The staff were friendly and the service quick. This restaurant has live music. They seemed to be busy, specially at dinner, so definitely recommended to reserve a table. Highly recommended.
