Convenient and affordable stay. Left impressed ! I stayed here with my family - (young baby) for two nights whilst visiting the area. Firstly the staff are so kind and friendly. Especially the two woman who run the front desk. A cheerful hello everytime we walked past. The room was spacious, had everything we needed (tea & coffee facilities, hot shower, TV) and a river view! Super walkable to all main places in Kendal - and right by a river side walk path. I stayed in Room 405 on the top, fourth floor in the attic. I found the staff and servive to be excellent. This included advice on their restsurant ; the free, covered car park next to the Hotel, the flexible, earlier check in and brief explanation about the extent of the Hotel. There was a kettle and free provisions like tea and coffee in the room. I had a quiet, comfortable stay. I enjoyed the views and watching the soaring swifts and swallows and other birds closeup. Ideal for a weekend in Kendal The hotel is nicely located to the centre pubs, restaurants and shops. It has a nice relaxing bar area. The room was clean and well maintained. No aircon so it got very hot in the night but there was a fan available. Bed was comfy and the room was spacious. All doors slammed shut and the latches made it unavoidable. The gym is fairly new and was well equipped for a hotel one. The free car park was handy but it was full the 2nd afternoon. I did manage to squeeze into a small space on the end though. Lovely hotel situated next to the river. Comfortable bed and very quiet room with a river view. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Decent shower and shower gel/shampoo also provided. Excellent cooked breakfast and very reasonable price. All staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming. Very smooth check in/out process.
