A beautiful building which sadly provides the typical Marston’s experience… We were first struck by the higher menu prices than normal, with the average main costing £15 (there is a large Travelodge on the other side of the car park which may have something to do with it). There are a few vegetarian options, including the house salad, veggie burger and the veggie roast dinner on a Sunday. All of these came to our table, but the salad in particular was only half constructed. The advertised quinoa, brown rice, kale and other ingredients were nowhere to be found. Upon unexpectedly walking in after being in hospital this morning EMILY greeted me with such energy and vibrancy. Her smile and fizz is quite honestly the greatest smile I have ever seen in any of your houses, or any others run by other Breweries. Please look after her and value her incredible customer care, knowledge and wisdom for people and people’s needs I will return purely to seeEMILY again oh and the amazing food, drink. We arrived at 6pm, looking forward to a pleasant meal and drink. We ordered the Fish and Chips meal. We were extremely disappointed at the quality and taste of the fish. It certainly didn’t look or taste like a fillet of cod, and the taste was extremely disappointing, with the bottom of the batter undercooked.
