Ordered a double espresso and came this (pictured). Asked the first staff she said it’s double espresso. Asked the second staff she said it’s a ristretto. I feel like they are reassuring customers preference by their instincts without acknowledging - I would have ordered ristretto if I love the taste of it, and I would have expected to get a double espresso as this is what I ordered. The second staff finally offered me to prepare a double espresso as I insisted this is not my drink. Very burnt and it’s over palm temperature, which is a common easy check for espresso temperature. I come to Local Hero every few months for breakfast and it is always delicious, I order the same thing and it's consistent. Poached eggs on toast and French toast is always tasty, and the coffee is great. My only feedback/critique is I think the poached eggs on toast should come with 2 pieces of sourdough. not 1. The piece of bread is tiny and very thin (though tasty) and I always have to order an extra slice. 2 eggs require 2 slices of bread! Please consider changing this. It's so tasty but comes out looking a bit sad as it's so small - just something to consider. Service is always friendly,
