Okay. I usually have a lot to say about contemporary art. But this place was truly something. A small, unassuming museum/gallery but a very nicely curated one with an excellent gift shop outside and all very affordable. At the time I went, there were two expositions: a Chico Da Silva one with excellent colours and lightings and a functional gym whose weights were old Greek/Roman sculptures. Everyone was so nice; the museum is free, but they usually encourage donations. They require a reservation to get inside, but you can just get it right there and then; they will show you how. Nottingham Contemporary is a really nice gallery and well worth visiting. It is smaller in scale compared to some of the larger galleries I have been to, but that is not a bad thing. The space feels more focused, and the exhibitions are thoughtfully curated. They rotate regularly, so there is usually something new to see each time you visit. I have been two or three times, and most of the exhibitions have been genuinely impressive. Some have not quite been for me, but that is the nature of art being subjective. Overall, there is usually something that will appeal to a wide range of visitors.

There is a bar and toilets on the ground floor, and it was hot in the concert hall, but overall, it was a very pleasant experience!
