My disabled father visited the McDonald’s inside Asda at approximately 11:00 p.m. During his visit, he experienced what we believe was discriminatory and verbally abusive treatment from a young member of staff. The employee made a comment about my father’s difficulty reading, which was both inappropriate and discriminatory. The service from one of the female workers at McDonald’s was very disappointing. A young girl got up from her table to collect her order, but because she was sitting with a group of teenagers, the worker appeared to look at her with disgust. The employee then slammed the food down on the service counter before walking back into the kitchen. The girl p asked for some BBQ sauce and said she was not impressed with her service , but instead of handling the situation professionally, the same worker returned aggressively and said, “You what?” before grabbing the food back out of the girl’s hands. Food is always delayed with staff activities never matching the live monitoring screen. The staff just look like the whole thing is an inconvenience to them and the staff culture is wrong. I’ve been here 4 times in as many months and it’s the same each time and doesn’t match other McDonald’s standards. Real shame because it can’t be all of the staff but something is driving this common mentality that walk in customers are an inconvenience. As I sit here now there’s 20 plus customers waiting yet the screen indicates 3 orders outstanding and everything else is ready for collection?
