We intended to go weymouth beach as been there many times but today decided to explore and found the beach side which is far better with easy access to the beach and better takeaway food. They also have a restaurant which might not look like much but best chips had in ages. Next visit to this area and this will be first choice

This place has a 5* for hygiene rating. I'm not quite sure how. The outside tables were dirty, the floors in the cafe were dirty and sticky as you go in. The mats are filthy. The disabled loo was disgusting. Faeces around the rim, no soap and paper total holder broken and all over the floor....a health and safety risk in many ways. I ordered a toasted panini, I got a toasted chibatta that was flavoured with Indian spices. My hot chocolate never arrived. My friend went in to see where it was and was totally ignored by staff. Not suitable for people with allergies. Such a shame, we have been here before with food allergies and felt very well catered to but things seem to have gone downhill in the last few years. Asked for the allergy menu got handed one only to be told simultaneously that everything on the menu is fried in the same oil so essentially a huge cc risk. Took the allergy menu anyway to check what items actually had a warning for the allergens we were avoiding (nuts and peanuts) only to find it really difficult to read, not set out in clear columns. Smaller portions for the start of this season! Have come here for years, always good food and portion size. This year tiny ball of ice cream and tiny squirt of sauce and flake for £4. Used to be a good sized scoop and plenty of sauce! Jacket spuds used to be full on now tiny potato tiny topping. Cod bites down from seven decent bites to five little ones with chips £11.90. Sort it out Beachside! Used to be brilliant. What you playing at? Don’t want to stop coming here but not great guys!!
