I came down to Oxford from up North for a conference and when I got off the train I desperately wanted a great coffee. I popped ‘specialty coffee’ in Google and Maya’s Stores was nearby. I could tell from the outside that it was a good coffee place but when I stepped inside it became more than that because of the wonderful, friendly and upbeat service I received from Faith, the lovely barista. She was clearly very busy with multiple orders but wasn’t fazed. She took time to chat with me and remind me what a Cortado is (I know, should’ve remembered!). I ordered one and it was excellent! They make matcha from scratch! Rather than just pour it from premade. I love their fluffy latte combined with the broche croissant/pain au chocolate. Their chocolate drinks are also amazing! Not too sweet or creamy.

I visited with my partner on 27/5/26 at 3:30pm on a day trip to Oxford to find some coffee beans! 🙂 The young man who was working at this time (I'm so sorry we didn't catch his name) was the most helpful and friendly person, he was incredibly patient with us and also others waiting in the que as he was on his own. He was very knowledgeable about the coffee and kindly offered to grind the beans for us which was a great help as we weren't too sure what we were doing! 🙂 The coffee beans smelt fantastic and the caramel frappe was absolutely delicious and much better than any other coffee chain w
