If all you care about is cheap pints then it’s fine. But after that don’t expect much. We were screamed at by (who we think is) the manager for very unnecessary reasons about the chairs we were sat in and he wouldn’t stop shouting and he kept pushing his hand in our face telling us to stop talking and be quiet which was very hostile.

Got kicked out for ordering soft drinks! We visited The George Cannon to watch the football, have a drink, and get something to eat. Before ordering, we asked at the bar whether food was available. We were told the pub itself didn’t serve food, but that there was a partnership with the restaurant next door and we could order food from there and eat it in the pub. We then ordered a few drinks, including sparkling water and juice. At that point, the member of staff behind the bar told us we had to leave because we were ordering soft drinks rather than alcoholic drinks. This was both surprisin

The George Canning reopened on Wednesday 25 August after a major refurbishment. I am pleased to report that they have started serving real ale again. Two cask beers on handpump when I visited: Doom Bar and Timothy Taylor's Landlord. And the Landlord is a bargain at £3.35 for a pint. Lots of outdoor seating most of it covered. Four screens showing sport. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Do yourself a favour and find a better pub. The Landlord is highly aggressive and it’s not a Nice place. There’s other reviews here that say the same thing. I would recommend the spoons around the corner or any other pub in the area over this one. Avoid at all costs.
