Having moved back to London from Southern California, the food I missed most was good Mexican food. It’s great to see many New Mexican restaurants popping up but often it can be a hit or miss in terms of authenticity. Today I tried Chilaquilles at Guacamole’s in Peckham and washed it down with a tasty horchata. The taste was authentic and reminded me of the tastes I experienced back in California and Mexico. Definitely worth a visit. 😋

Incredible food! Everything that we ate was so delicious and great flavours. A standout was the Birria tacos and horchata was a delicious drink to have with the meal. This is now a new favourite and will come back!

We went on the £9 Tuesdays. Absolutely delicious 🤤 honestly the best mexican in London so far! An excellent selection in terms of choice, went for 2 x the pork, 1 x chicken and 1 x fish. The chips and dip, fresh and very moreish. Lovely staff, the owner is great and coming back for the barrita beef as it was sold out 😭 Highly recommend, super easy to get to. Peckham Rye station is a stone throw away too. See you again! Solid A***** LDT x

Overall: Food: Mexican The closest London gets to a Mexican so far but still not a patch on the real thing. This Mexican food outlet is in a small run down shopping centre on Rye Lane in Peckham. A nice busy set up but no wonder the cartel is after the owner with these diabolical wait times and prices for water! Worthy of a solid three stars but won’t set the world alight.
