I love a good pie and mash and traveled to Basildon to try this establishment. Very nice people and quick service. The place was clean and neat and tidy. My sons bacon and sausage sandwich looked nice. I had the 2 pie and mash combo. Pies were okay - a little bit soft for me, and not hot enough. The pricing for the pies was extremely high though. It was £11.50, but on the menu underneath the stickers it said £6. I understand inflation, but the pricing seemed too high for the location and quality of the meal. For comparison, the same meal in Wickford is around £6.50. Hopefully this is construc

Went in ask for well done pies , my preferred way to have pies , reply was no one likes burnt pies , I’ve been to 30 pies mash establishments & never been told that , pie was just ok, mash was to my liking, liquor was tasty but just about warm, It did pass the taste test but down the bottom of my list of pie mash shops.

Super friendly and professional staff serving homemade authentic pie and mash. My first experience of this East end delicacy was superb. The staff were amazing in their conduct. The place is clean and standard of any cafe. The chips were crispy and the scampi perfectly cooked. A runny egg is always a crowd pleaser. The ham could be improved though; it had the taste as from a deli counter, a cooked ham would really improve the dish. A great experience and would recommend if you are craving some traditional London grub.
