I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The first thing that caught my attention was the size of the fish they served. It was absolutely massive! I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size, which left me feeling completely satisfied. Not only was the food delicious, but the cleanliness of the shop was also impressive. The entire place was spotless. It was clear that the owners took great pride in maintaining a hygienic and inviting environment for their customers. The service I received was top-notch as well. Soooooo goood. I visited this place previous weekend to try this traditional meal. Fish was very fresh, fried just after ordered. Fries could be better (was soft, not crispy). Size of the fish is huuuge. Whole portion is huge. Next time we will take two fish and one chips.

Fish and chips done right! Passing through Pontefract I asked Google what the best Fish & Chips in the area was, I was recommended to Lanes. My order as Fish , chips and mushy peas with a buttered breadbun. ( Don't forget lashings of Salt and Vinegar!) The Fish was golden brown, perfectly cooked with crispy flavourful batter, encasing fluffy and thick chunks of tender White Cod, Delicious is not overstating it! The chips where also Golden and fluffy, cooked to perfection, very tasty and with a slight crisp exterior adding great texture. The mushy peas I personally prefer slightly thicker
