I understand why the River Cafe has remained an institutional haunt for all these years. Beyond the fresh produce the service is consistent (and if you're luckily you'll get a guest or two wanting to chitchat with your table). It's a very family oriented establishment that has a local feel - feels like somewhere you could envision the cast of Notting Hill enjoying a meal in the late 90s. I was walking in the area and I was dying for a cold drink because it was crazy hot. I ordered a Coke and sat down. I noticed that the staff seemed to know everyone by name and their orders, there were clearly more regulars than walk‑in customers. The staff were all super polite and friendly. The décor of this place is a blast from the past, and it reminded me of going to cafés as a kid with my grandparents. I understand why this place is considered an institution.

Nice café with friendly staff the all important crispy hash browns and came with a hot beverage and orange juice included. Seating is on a long table with so you might end up sharing, but this is not a problem. And take payment major credit and debit cards.

Super friendly and funny owner (Father and son) with warm service. It’s an over hundred years old cafe with old school style. Food is freshly made and hot. Wonderful coffee. This cafe just located opposite to the station. Have off street pay-parking. Full of great memories! Of course reasonable fair price!
