The oldest (apparently) coffee shop in Rayleigh lived up to the claim, and we do recommend a visit in all earnest. A cosy room with comfortable seating and friendly people serving enjoyable food. The menu is quite extensive and can be a trifle confounding to come up with your preference, but yes, there's every option. The coffee (much acclaimed) didn't disappoint. Having seen the menu, we will be back to try out the afternoon tea.

Afternoon Cream tea ~Far to expensive for what you get , cold coffee was served in a Coke glass, staff did not come over to ask if we wanted more drinks and they didn’t clear away plates , or offer clean ones. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday and the staff were young and inexperienced. Not a pleasant Treat wouldn’t recommend.

Went with daughters for afternoon tea. Lovely old tea shop. Why haven't I been here before??? Very accommodating with one vegetarian and no nuts. Goid selection tion of cakes and sandwiches, not to mention a great menu of various teas.

Lovely English tea house at the top of the High Street. Extensive menu for breakfast lunch and dinner. Well established business meant fast service. We had the Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine. Both were the best we ever had. Recommended.
