Just stopped by as a visit near by and found this place. Full of history. Just had a drink in the bar. Dog friendly and met two lots of couples who filled us in on the history of the place. Loved it. The bar area was very relaxing and a good atmosphere and friendly people.

Booked afternoon tea. Thought it was terrible the only thing decent was cake and scone. Bread was not what is expected on afternoon tea. This was so dry. Crust inedible. Fillings somewhat to be desired. Had strips of streaky bacon with chicken in broich rolls. Bacon looked as though it was left over from breakfast. So basically like a pack up to take to work. A really mixed visit. A beautiful location with an amazing building, however, the room was tired, the bathroom seemed dirty (lots of black mold) and the hot water wasn't working. I have shared a few pictures including one of the bathroom door. If you stay you may want to take your own shampoo, conditioner and hand soap - they provide a cheap 'multi soap' in a plastic tube. The lighting was very dim and the wifi was so poor that it was unusable. They also use a wifi system that seems to harvest quite a lot of data from you in order to use it. We couldn't get a signal on either of our phones

I had a wonderful experience at Rothley Court Hotel — everything from the beautiful surroundings to the comfortable rooms was exceptional.
