My partner took me here on my birthday. There was a rude bouncer who greeted us at the door who gave no warm welcome- such a shame to be met with this on my birthday. The bar staff were much friendlier and gave good recommendations for which drinks would be best suited to my tastes. The cocktails were fun, creative and served in nice ways. However the price of the cocktails was eye watering.

A pretty decent cocktail bar of Asian fusion. I was able to get the pre-Theatre fixe menu, only fitting since I was going to see an opera show at the theater. Apparently there are two levels of the bar and they’re not supposed to share menus. I went up to the top floor and Had a cocktail experience that was wonderful, a concoction that was absolutely New for me. Definitely a place you should stop in for a couple of drinks if you’re in Chinatown in London. Amazing ambiance, super friendly and attentive staff, but the cocktails were a major disappointment …. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Opium Cocktail Bar. If you’re looking for a cool hidden spot with an Asian vibe and a young crowd and really don’t care about the quality or taste of your cocktail, Opium “Cocktail” Bar may be your spot. On a Saturday night, the bouncer dispatched us to the second floor, which we were later told has a different menu than the third floor. I personally am not sure why this place only has a 4.1/5 review on Google; I visited London in April of 2025 and without reservation, luckily snagged a seat at the bar at this place. The drinks were tasty, well balanced, and the atmosphere and bartender were great. I would go back (and recommend) to Opium any time!
