We stopped into St. James Tavern on our first night in London because my boyfriend really wanted to have fish and chips — and it ended up being a great choice. Located right near Piccadilly Circus, it was an easy and convenient place to grab a seat while exploring the area. We were able to walk right in with no wait, which was a nice surprise given how busy the area can get. The fish and chips definitely delivered. The portion of fish was huge, crispy, and exactly the kind of classic London pub meal we were hoping for. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, making it a great first-night

Great little pub in London with old school charm and foods. Order at the counter and get yourself a meat pie and a pint of your favorite brew. I was not disappointed. I don’t have much to go off of as this is my first time but I know good food when I taste it. Came here for lunch on a Monday afternoon and did not leave disappointed.

Fish and chips were good, but the fries were very oily and even had visible potato marks on them, so they could have been better. The Low & Slow Cooked Steak & Venison Pie was also enjoyable. As for the atmosphere, it was quite crowded and noisy, which is typical for a pub.

Absolutely brilliant!! The Guinness was creamy and the fish and chips was delicious. I don’t like the green stuff but that peas cream was so so good!! Service was also amazing. Go to place in London for sure!
