This is the pub experience you are missing. As an American family living in Reading this was one of our favorite places to visit. Not only does it have the right pub feel it also has tons of gluten free and allergy friendly options. My favorite was the gluten free fish and chips but they had sandwiches with gluten free bread and many other options. If you are gluten free try the wold top marmalade. It’s the best dark gluten free beer I’ve ever had. It gives the thick dark Guinness vibes. The owners are great people who obviously care about the pub and guests.

I went to the Flowing Spring as part of a group and we booked at very short notice. The venue was pleasant but accessible. There was a large outdoor garden area which seemed to be closed off for visitors. We arrived at around 1pm on a Sunday and it was fairly empty. The menu looked good because there were vegans and gluten free in our party. The ordering process was very slow, but service on the meals was reasonable once the orders had been given. Some of the items we selected were unavailable, but then mysteriously arrived when someone thought she had ordered an alternative! Overall the food

Took a bit of a trip to try The Flowing Spring as I had read about it and a band I like have played it in the past, I was not disappointed! Excellent choice of food for all tastes and levels, simply fabulous real ale as well as other stuff for those not into that. Food was absolutely fantastic. Great range of gluten free options, full of flavour. I've been dreaming about the apple and blackberry crumble ever since. The decor is quirky, and access isn't great for those who are disabled due to the layout. But it's an old place and I don't think they could do anything to rectify it. I understand in the summer you can eat in the garden which would solve the issue. Well worth a trip.
