Met my sister here for lunch as it’s one of the few chippys to have tables and the reviews were really good. Very friendly greeting on a Wednesday lunchtime. Had to wait while sis found the place, so ordered calamari, denied - “it’s finished”. A 330ml London Pride is £6.50 so no. Ordered a sad-looking onion rings instead. Ordered 2 medium cod & chips and mushy peas. When food came we were told that they were large for the same price; great. I honestly think they were trying to do us a favour. Except they were very thin and dry. Batter not bad. Chips a bit oily but OK. Good mushy peas. Worn out

Absolutely loved it! Not my first time here. I’m a big fish & chips lover, and this place always makes me happy. Crispy fish, proper chips, cosy vibe. One of my top choices in St Albans, and I’ll definitely come back whenever I’m craving fish & chips. Only small wish….it would be even better with a bit more staff and some extra heating during the cold winter months. But overall, still a favourite!
