I feel bad for doing this review, but i feel as if the foods been a let down for a while. It was really good at first but now, but now standards have fallen it is not the same. I got John Dory and i understand it is a small fish but the side that came with it did not make up for it. My friend got Duck Pate with Sour dough bread but it came with some Layered potato. He had to ask them for the sour dour bread, which he did get after. I am not being rude the pate tasted weird, it was pungent. The other issue i have is customers with dogs in the eating area. Beautiful garden with plenty of tables - book in advance if sunny because it get very busy. Cocktails are delicious and have a few deals on weeks days 4-6pm including oysters for £2 a pop. Inside is gorgeous and the staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable; there’s always Amazon specials in the board. Super seasonal menu but what never fails are the Croquettes… sometimes lobster, hake, mackerel or cheese… Always yes! Missing the shrimp burger though…

‘Above’ at The Vic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolutely superb new dining environment and experience, set above an already delightful and well-established quality pub. Raw & fried oysters, fried chicken with caviar, steak tartare, monkfish curry, and perfectly cooked turbot. Not to mention a great pint of Guinness downstairs beforehand, followed by a fat-washed Old Fashioned and a very nice Bacchus. The food was executed incredibly well, and the front-of-house team were exceptional! Open Friday and Saturday evenings. It’s not big, so book early to be delighted—and to avoid disappointment.

I recently booked the place for a birthday celebration. We were around 20 people with kids, and the it was such a nice setting, well organised, staff super helpful! I couldn't have asked for a better venue. I pre-ordered finger food buffet, staff made sure dietary requirements were taken care of and alternative options were available. Food was delicious, esp the oysters and shrimp sliders. Service was top notch. Staff was so friendly and made sure they checked in that everything was okay and going to plan. My guests loved the set up and food. Would definitely recommend the pub and looking forw
