Ehhhh mixed emotions about this place. You enter with a dream for a simple coffee, quick service, and maybe even a Panini, in a rather idyllic spot. You find the cafe is shut, totally scuppering your afternoon walk and plans. This has happened many times, despite the rather optimistic hours advertised online. When it is open they simply refuse to serve coffee or food up to an hour and a half before close. I understand cleaning the machine is an important job, but it does not take that long. This cafe has so much potential- the location attracts dog walkers, families and joggers. It could be a real hub at the heart of the Common. I have visited a few times and each time I’ve never walked away feeing wholly positive about the service, atmosphere or food. It very much gives nineties vibes and I don’t feel it is thinking much about how to improve or cater for its customers it is just simply ‘there’. Absolutely rip off, there’s nothing small or reasonable prices on the menu to offer for snack for kids all food is £10-12 I mean they couldn’t even give us an egg, even that’s cost £10. Nothing says this cafe is fair in price or tailors to family’s with kids. It’s not hamstead and even if it was hamstead is still more reasonable priced cafes. Most expensive coffee nothing special.
