JUST LIKE ME MUTHA USED TO MAKE -i ordered the ham broth and as the title of my review suggests it was exactly like my mother used to make. i had to return the first bowl as the dumplings were so hard i couldn’t cut them, hence the 3* in what should have been a 4* rating. bit of a hidden gem this place tbh, it’s very nice inside, cheap as chips and the (very busy) lady who served me was very pleasant and helpful.

I visited here with my mam for some lunch. Good portion of mince pie chips and mushy peas with gravy. We could sit strate down at any table. We waited about 10 mins for our food which was nice a hot and tasted great. We were asked if our meal was ok, and it was, so we will be back in future.

We got there too late for breakfast, but as brunch has the same food as breakfast we went for brunch! An ordinary brunch costs £10.95 but doesn't include tea or coffee, whereas a large brunch does include tea or coffee at £12.95 – so simple maths said we both went for the latter. The food was delicious and the service friendly & professional.

Went here a few weeks ago for breakfast about 11am, i asked for chips with my breakfast and i was happy when the girl said I could have them. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in Sunderland and I'd highly recommend a visit. They have a good amount to choose from and will visit another time to try a different meal. I will definitely be back for breakfast again. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I did notice they knew customer names which I thought was a nice touch as just something simple like that can make a difference to someone's day 👏.
