NOW That's What I Call A Festive Meal! With everything done and ready (on my part at least) and the Out Of Office on it was time for the now traditional start to Christmas at the 'Oaks! Time to catch up with our friend Maria (who amazingly is younger now than when we met 17 years ago!) and indulge in some fine dining and wine as Mr Uber had delivered us! We had booked a family Sunday lunch for four yesterday (3:30pm) because of the reviews we had seen online. Never been to this pub/restaurant before and expected so much. The venue is clean and decor is great but my family came in ahead of me while I parked the car. They had been seated but no one greeted me at the main entry door and I was left to track down where they had been seated by phoning them. All the waiting staff at the table were attentive. We got water for the table and menus quickly. But then we also got more water which was intended for the table across the aisle from us soon

We used to live close to the Four Oaks and visited regularly, especially for Sunday lunch which was always outstanding. Portion sizes were incredibly generous and the quality of food and side accompaniments were plentiful and varied. Small touches like the complimentary sourdough and butter were a lovely touch. We moved to Cheshire a while ago but decided to make the 120 mile round trip back to the Four Oaks yesterday to enjoy an Easter Sunday lunch. Unfortunately, the visit didn't live up to past experiences. Whilst the food was nice, the quality didn't match previous experiences. Side accomp
