We stopped by to rest while visiting the area and really enjoyed this nice local pub. Affordable pints and simple but tasty food. The food options were toasties, hot dogs, and crisps. I had a homemade style toastie which I really enjoyed, and my husband had a hot dog which he said was tasty too. Simple, comforting food done well and at a good price. There’s also a big friendly dog and a sleepy cat chilling at the bar, which added to the charm. I just happened to snap the dog mid-yawn, so he looks a bit scary in the picture! 😄 A lovely, relaxed spot.

The Volunteer is genuinely one of my favorite places in London. It’s the kind of pub that feels more like hanging out in someone’s living room than being at a bar - warm, welcoming, + full of pets & personalities Everyone is incredibly friendly, from the owners/bartenders to the regulars.
