I seem to always go to late as generally there does not seem much left, especially on a Saturday. I think if you get there before 12pm the choice (especially mid week ) will be great. However I can only go off my experience. The cakes are large, bit to sweet for me .(I went for pie but none left i wanted). Clean shop. Reasonable prices. I can imagine lovely cakes, sandwiches and pies early on. Staff are basically just doing their job. No particular friendliness or chat but it's a sandwich shop so it's in and and out service so can't comment more than that.. Very busy little place. Can't dislik

Visited today and purchased a selection of their amazing fresh cakes, a vanilla slice the size of my head, a toffee topped fresh cream choux bun and a Manchester tart along with a cheese and onion pie, a sausage roll and packet of 6 bread muffins. We've had the Manchester tart so far and enjoyed it immensely! There's so much choice and variety available here with friendly polite service. I really wish I lived in Uppermill! However we will be driving from Halifax whenever possible to visit again

At approximately 1.30/1.40pm I went into the shop to purchase a sandwich which was in all honestly lovely. However I stepped out of the queue to help an older lady down the shop step with her rollator. Upon returning to my position, I was asked whether it was my turn or the man behind me, I replied mine. Upon ordering my sandwich, two staff members started bad mouthing me to each other and one glared over at me. When I explained I had helped the lady out of the shop she just retorted it’s nothing to do with me.
