Wonderful Sunday roast. Very generous with portion sizes, had roast turkey adult size meal. Everything was cooked perfectly and staff very accommodating in providing what we needed, eg request for extra gravy. Had 2 dogs with us and staff helpful and friendly in seating us at an appropriate inside table. Lovely atmosphere with background music, but not too load so able to have a conversation easily. Not local, but will definitely visit again if in the area.

Might have just been a bad day on their part but... Family made a reservation and attended this pub on a recommendation. We arrive, I said to a staff member at the bar we had a reservation, they just said to sit anywhere and just gestured for us to go off into the pub to find a table. There were no menus at the tables, and nothing was said to us. I had to go back to the bar and ask for a menu, the staff only then said they had a shortage of menus, and only had 1 clip board with 2 A4 sheets on to go around the entire pub... Our trip here wasn’t what we expected, arrived with no booking and was greeted by a young girl who was pleasant and found us a table straight away. Ordered food and drinks, after over an hour of waiting we asked how long the food would be, was told a few minutes, 15 minutes later two of the seven meals arrived. We then after a while went back to the bar to order more drinks and ask where the other remaining 5 meals were, to be told again just a few more minutes. In total after waiting 1h45mins after originally ordering our food I unfortunately wasn’t satisfied and asked to speak to the manager

What a relief this place is back open and with some lovely genuine owners and a chef who knows how to cook a steak! Great atmosphere and beer is cold and well served, will be coming back! All England games on all the screens and a warm welcome good to see
