We finally made it to Vampire Penguin after having it on our to-do list for years and wow, was it worth the wait!!! We stopped in last night with family visiting from Oregon, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about it. I ordered the peanut butter cup, and let me just say: absolutely amazing! Everything I want in a dessert. We also tried the banana walnut cup. I don’t usually go for banana ice cream, but this one completely won me over. It was so flavorful and perfectly balanced. Snow cream flavors were very good. Had to send back the lattes because they were just lukewarm. I think that was due to just not steaming the milk sufficiently due to being understaffed. The young lady out front was practically running to get everyone served.

While wondering Aiken city center, I came across the most strange cafe. A combination of vampires and penguins all which serve ice treats and coffees. As the day was quite cold, I entered to see about some hot drinks and was greeted with a fun assortment strange and fun combinations from a s’mores latte to a brown sugar milk tea latte. The brown sugar milk tea looked the most enticing and with an easy order, I was enjoying a nice hot milk tea, American style. It was tasty and quite different from the milk teas I am used too.

I love this place, but have two questions: 1. Does the founding penguin vampire sign autographs? I'd like to meet him. 2. What is that stuff they're serving? It is super good, but they won't tell me all the details because it's a "company secret" or whatever. Softer than ice, but definitely not snow. It's wild. Anyway, it's super good and you should go.
