We had a pleasant lunch in Ann Arbor at Zingerman’s Delicatessen. The food was extremely fresh and well prepared, with generous portions and great flavor. I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken, which was crisp, well dressed, and tasted very fresh without being overly heavy. My partner chose the classic pastrami sandwich, and it absolutely delivered—tender, flavorful meat with high-quality bread that made it feel like a true deli staple. Probably one of the best deli & sandwiches in the USA.. Eat a regular size & you will! be comatose.. amazing and a must try in your life. Pricey but Fair for the Caliber of product. I was helped as a 1st timer to order on the touchscreen til I got the hang of it! the customer service was exceptional! Only thing i wish was easy to +add on the option screen to do a double meat option w pastrami(or different protein) corned beef! Etc. The baked goods looked phenomenal and i got the pumpernickel bread and it was so so hearty & delicious. best of the best. The $0.75 both pickles option is mandatory

There are places that get famous and then coast. Zingerman's is not one of those places. I went in with expectations that had been built up by years of hearing about it, and somehow it still exceeded them. The deli has been open since 1982 in the Kerrytown neighborhood of Ann Arbor, and by now it feels like it's woven into the actual fabric of the city. Which is to say walking in feels less like going to lunch and more like going somewhere that matters. The space is part store, part deli counter, part controlled chaos. Obviously Zingerman’s had to adjust prices just like everyone else, for inflation, but you don’t get the same value as you used to. 2009: small sandwich $12.99, 1/3 pound. Large sandwich $15.99, 1/2 pound. 2026: $21+ gets you just under 1/3 pound. Don’t get me wrong, I believe the quality is there, and the service, well…..it is unmatched compared to over 90% of places. I recommend Rick’s 50/50, but there are a couple of others that are outstanding as well. This place is definitely a staple, and I know people who have to come here (from out of state) when they are in Michigan. Go Blue! Of co
