Ok I was surprised at how good it was. Maybe it was because I was starving as usual, but I was thoroughly impressed with the quality. Did not expect that for a BBQ place in Asuza. The mac and cheese is worth getting, which is really the mark of a good BBQ restaurant for me. Pulled pork and beef brisket were both great as well, though I do think the brisket could have been cooked a little bit less.

Food was good. I bought a Brisket sandwich and brisket loaded fries. Portions were ok, could be a little bigger for the price. The brisket fries came out a little cold, and with a whole slice of cheese on there. I wish the brisket would of been hot and the cheese melted. The sandwich was good too. But again, the brisket was cold. My brother had the beef ribs and I feel the portion size could of been bigger for the price. All in all, flavor was good. Service was good. Portion size and price, need work.

I placed my order for pickup on their website, and I gotta say—it was super easy and user-friendly. The service was excellent and friendly too. But the food? Man, it just didn’t deliver that deep, smoky barbecue punch you expect from a place called Statehouse. If you’ve ever sunk your teeth into real Texas-style smoked BBQ, Canyon unfortunately falls way short. It was missing that rich, smoky soul that makes great ‘cue unforgettable. Decent service, but the flavor just didn’t ride into town.
