I had an absolutely amazing experience at The Salt Line. The service and food completely exceeded my expectations. I was not impressed by this overpriced restaurant in the heart of Bethesda. I wanted something light so just went with the clamp chowder because that is my go to. I got the bowl which was larger. It was runny (like watery), and it was heavy on the celery, not necessarily the potatoes and my main issue was light on the smallish clams. I was like where is the meat? I am VERY picky about my New England Clam Chowder and this was a huge disappointment. I even asked for more oyster crackers to thicken it up. Whatever brand they use for those wasn't even that good. This place is none for the Oysters unfortunately my hubby doesn't eat them in I only occasionally 3-4. We came for our anniversary the calamari was delicious, the smash burger hubby ordered and I took a piece was the best. The spicy shrimp sandwich was small and where's the spice? The gave us champagne and ice cream thx so much. The dip was delicious just crab dip" "But Soupy and needed more Crab meat. Loved the chips with the old Bay delicious and light. The fries to pliable needed some crunch but tasty.

Been here several times and glad they are in Bethesda, MD. Main focus of this restaurant is seafood but they do have some non-seafood dishes. If you want to splurge, I do like their seafood towers. It is pricey, but I think so worth it. You get so much seafood. It includes lobster tails, crab claws, lobster and crab meats, tuna, mussels, clams and oysters. Other standouts are the coddies, crab dip, branzino and lobster rolls. I like their cocktail menu and enjoyed the Stirred 8 and their G&T. They do have happy hour specials as well.
