There are few desi restaurants that relentlessly focus on a niche of Indian cuisine. This one does - Kongu Tamil food. We had the mutton dishes, chukka, mutton fry, Kovai mutton biriyani. Each dish was perfection, the biriyani was so flavorful, lots of tender mutton pieces. This place tops our list of Indian non-veg restaurants in the Seattle area, along with Madhurai Mess which is also a fave of mine. Compliments to our waiter Ram, who attended to us well, brought out raw onions for me, made sure water was filled. Will be back (a lot!!).

The place was incredibly crowded, and we had to wait for about 15-20 minutes. To keep us occupied, they had big screens playing movies and music. The food had decent flavors and tasted more like homemade dishes than restaurant-style. The Chicken 65 masala was quite subtle and could have been better. Egg podimas was missing salt. The Chicken kothu, Curry Dosa, and Biryani were all delicious with the accompanying salna. The Rosemilk was also quite tasty. The service was excellent. I recently visited Junior Kuppanna Indian Restaurant & Bar and overall had a good experience. The ambience was nice, the place was clean, and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. We first ordered the chicken pepper fry, but initially it wasn’t spicy and didn’t taste very good. However, one of the staff members approached us and asked about the food. When we told him about it, he immediately took it back without hesitation and brought us a freshly prepared one. Finally a nice South Indian restaurant in Bothell! We tried the Salt & Pepper Baby Corn as an appetizer — really tasty and well-seasoned (slightly on the dry side, but still good). The Podi Masala Dosa was absolutely on point — crispy, flavorful, and perfectly made. Gulab jamun were decent too. Overall a great experience and I’m happy to have a solid South Indian spot nearby. Will definitely be back!
