Okay! Wow! First off Sam, the owner introduced himself immediately and began explaining the menu - asking what/if we were familiar with in Indian cuisine. He kindly took time to explain several of the dishes they are known for and the service was incredible. Saji helped to serve our table and was very kind and timely with everything. As a fellow chef, I’m usually pretty critical and selective when dining out, but Samboorna in Bothell really nailed it. It’s rare to find a spot that hits those bold, authentic flavors without everything feeling heavy or greasy. The Fish Thali (day special) was easily the highlight—the Kerala fish curry was perfectly spiced and the fish fry had that great home-cooked crispness. One of the best tamil cuisine or in-fact South Indian cuisine around this part of the state. Some absolute delicious dishes. Had ordered their sea to table thali.. it was fantastic and sufficient. The prawn thook( curry) was a stunner and the crab too.. then there was tamil style mutton biriyani the biriyani itself was delicious but the real hero was that ennakathrika( eggplant curry) served as side for the biriyani.. thats a real deal.
