I took my husband here for the first time on father's day around 1pm without reservations. When we arrived there were 2 parties in front of us of about 4 ppl each. They gave us a 15 min wait which wasn't bad. The only thing was that as I observed there were alot of empty tables in the restaurant and I started to notice the restaurant appeared understaffed up front. Boston Ale House in West Roxbury is an awesome spot for a night out. The atmosphere is huge, upscale, and lively, and they had a great live band (KTO Duo) taking requests all night, which made the whole experience even better. We tried a bunch of drinks and everything was great — the Harvest Mule, the Coco Loco 1800 Margarita, the Down East Caramel Apple Cider, and the Pumpkin Espresso Martini, which was basically dessert in a glass. My sister and I are visiting from the DMV area/Baltimore and really wanted Fish and Chips. We ordered the fish and chips which totalled to $24. We were absolutely disappointed!!! And since we purchased our meal so late, we were forced to not eat at all for the night. The fish was RAW! The batter from the fish never actually cooked which caused a gummy cast as you can see in the photos. It was terrible and we were unable to eat! This was more upscale than I was expecting, definitely giving fancier date night vibes than dive bar. I went on a weeknight and there were only a few patrons at the bar. I don't really have any clear complaints besides the burger being underwhelming. Their cocktails were solid👌🏼👌🏼prices were reasonable. Food came out relatively fast. It was a 3 for food, but a 4 for everything else. Their trivia nights or live music nights might be interesting to try out!
