Marakanda is an absolute hidden gem in North Philly! I’ve never had Uzbek cuisine before, but the service and the quality of food blew me away! I specifically recommend the mantu and the tuy kabob. For drinks, the apricot kompot is amazing. If you never had Uzbek food, Marakanda is a great place to start! The ambiance is so welcoming.

Absolutely Incredible Uzbekistan Cuisine! We came to Marakanda Restaurant for a family dinner, and it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Philadelphia. The hospitality alone makes this place stand out from the moment we walked in, the staff treated us like family. The food is authentic, rich in flavor, and beautifully prepared. Every dish felt like it came straight from a home kitchen in Uzbekistan. You can taste the tradition and love in everything they serve. Service was quick, attentive, and genuinely warm. Overall, the food was okay — the taste is good, but nothing special. There are plenty of places where the food is much better. The biggest disappointment was the portion size. I attached photos: the total weight of the meal, including the plastic container, was 313 grams. It included a lula kebab, a beaf kebab, two small lamb chops! I paid a little over $33 with tax. The meat itself was decent, no major complaints about the taste, but the portion is very small for the price. For comparison, in steakhouses you can get a 23 oz T-bone steak 23 oz (around 650 grams) of high-quality beef for about
