Excellent little local coffee shop right here in Carbondale near campus and exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble across on a rainy morning. The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and full of personality without trying too hard. Service was genuinely kind and helpful from the moment I walked in, and you could tell this is a regular stop for a lot of locals and students alike. I’ve been to a coffee shop that is this consistently good, I go multiple times a week since I work nearby and they have never once given me a bad experience. The prices are reasonable for this area and compared to other corporate chains in town, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming as well. Would recommend.

We were in the Carbondale area for a couple days, and stopped by Common Grounds one morning for a cup of coffee. It seemed to be a popular spot for the nearby SIU campus, but for us, just visiting the area, it was an excellent latte with a small coffee shop environment. Perfect!
