Southern Star in Chattanooga has absolutely ruined other lunch spots for me. You walk in, grab a plate, and face two glorious buffets: the hot bar and the cold bar. Then you load it up like you’re preparing for a three-day hiking trip… and they simply weigh your bad decisions and charge you by the pound. The problem is everything is good. Our first time here. It was a little odd from the parking to getting in, food, etc. If you haven't ever been here, look for the stars inside of the parking lot so you can park free. We didn't know this until we had to pay to pay on the street. There are no signs stating you can park free if you're a customer until you get to the door to walk in which kind of defeats the purpose. Wow! This is great food at a great price. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would come a couple of days a week if I lived in the area. They had gluten free food and dessert offerings. The GF peanut butter pie was so delicious. I highly recommend you come!
