I always enjoy visiting a Portillo’s when possible… it’s one of those things I just can’t get in the DC area, like In-n-Out… So, when I was in Kissimmee I looked and found this one and went. It’s about a 15 min ride from the Gaylord in Kissimmee, which is a mile from Disney’s main entrance. Service here was great, friendly, and quick. The menu is what I’m familiar with, but all I wanted was a small Italian Beef with spicy giardiniera and a Chicago Dog. River saved the day! We ordered a large delivery order through the website and Uber should have delivered to our resort. We provided very detailed instructions and have received deliveries at this address already this week. After an hour we received a text they delivered the food but they did not. We called the restaurant directly and River was able to cancel our original order and then re-made our large order for pick up. She was very poised and helpful. Portillo’s Kissimmee, located on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, is a place my dad would have loved. He didn’t come from Chicago where the restaurant chain originated from, but he loved a good hamburger and hot dog with a side of crisp fries. Starvation is a better option than eating at this place. Not completely sure what kind of information my sandwich was withholding to get waterboarded to this degree. If one is able to withstand the soaking wet bread, then they are still left to deal with the flavorless meat. I would not recommend the Italian beef sandwich to anyone, not even my enemy as the sandwich itself could be considered a war crime.
