My wife and I drove to Collierville for a dental surgery appointment. I knew it would take a few hours and that I wouldn't be able to eat for the rest of the day. We arrived at Perkins an hour and a half prior to the appointment. We waited 10 minutes to be seated. I ordered a sweet tea to drink while we looked over the menu. It was our first time at this restaurant. My server gave me coffee and 2 waters. I thought well, ok, I'll have coffee. We ordered eggs benedict and chicken fried steak. Very disappointed honestly, We will start with the food.I wanted to share my disappointment regarding my recent visit to your restaurant. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was far below expectations. The eggs were extremely overcooked, hard, and honestly looked very unappetizing. The pancakes were also disappointing and noticeably seemed to be made with very low-grade ingredients, lacking both flavor and quality. Overall, the meal felt rushed and poorly prepared. Came in on a rainy Saturday when it was slow. The atmosphere was pretty cozy and the place was clean and well kept. The food was wonderful, I had a melt and some potato soup and enjoyed both very much. Good portions, served hot, barely any wait for anything (at the time). Was waited on by (I forgot her name! I think Heather? ack!), a very kind young black woman with braces and a headwrap. She was incredibly sweet and checked on me frequently, and made sure I had everything! Probably one of the kindest servers I’ve ever had! Will definitely come back when I’m in the area!!
