Chance Coffee is this great little neighbourhood roastery and coffee shop on Drouillard at Whelpton. The atmosphere is great with a nice clean aesthetic without feeling sterile with its interesting decor, plants, and functional seating areas which range from single seating areas, seating for two, small groups and a nice big live-edge type of wooden table suitable for a group of 8 or so. The indie music typically playing lends an upbeat and positive vibe to the experience. The lovely staff make the visit personal with their warm and friendly service. I’m not a huge coffee drinker these days

Staff is nice, the weekend breakfast was good, coffee was not to my taste but not that it was bad, just not for me. The one star reduction is based on the fact that there was a large group on Saturday morning that took the small tables by the window. There is a large table in another area that was much better for their group. They moved tables and chairs around which was fine when it was just them but it got busy and I sat at the large table by myself since there were no other seats. I noticed others that came in and seemed they wanted to sit but after looking around, took it to go or left. T

I just stopped by Chance Coffee and honestly, it’s a really clean and comfortable café. The vibe is modern and spacious, with plenty of room to sit and relax without feeling crowded. I grabbed a savoury pastry and a café latte—both were solid choices. The pastry was fresh and the latte was smooth, exactly what I needed. Overall, a great spot to unwind and enjoy good coffee.
